Invisalign® for kids

Designed for little smiles

As a child grows, their smile grows with them. Even with baby teeth, it may be the perfect time for children ages 6 to 10 years old to start orthodontic treatment. This is known as Phase 1 treatment. At this stage, orthodontists can see issues that may need early treatment to address a developing problem.

Now kids can get comfortable and clear results with Invisalign® for kids treatment.

About Invisalign® First

In 2018, Invisalign released a clear aligner system designed for patients ages 7-10 years old called Invisalign First or Invisalign First Phase. This clear aligner treatment provides predictable results and positive experiences while addressing the unique needs of growing children.

Invisalign First can help treat:

  • Aesthetic alignment
  • A bad bite
  • Arch development
  • Crowding
  • Preserving space for unerupted permanent teeth

Talk to us about Invisalign for kids

Your child needs to wear their aligners for at least 22 hours each day, as recommended by Dr. Wood so they can do their job and straighten their teeth. But, with Invisalign, they can remove your aligners for special occasions.

Like with traditional braces, they’ll generally need to wear a retainer after Invisalign treatment to maintain their new alignment—and their confident new smile.

Dr. Wood may not recommend Invisalign for some more complex alignment or bite issues, or for those who have bridgework. Schedule a free consultation with Dr. Wood at any of our Oread Orthodontics locations to learn if Invisalign is right for your child.
